We can be satisfied with today's result...Lucas finished front of Timo. It startes to rain on the P2, so at the end of the session noone was able to improve the times. Tomorrow break as usual in Monaco and racing continues on Saturday.
Lucas: “It was a very good day, despite running with the old car. I felt comfortable straight away with the way the car was behaving here in Monaco. I think we are closer to the other teams than we were in Barcelona and in Free Practice 2 I was able to finish ahead of one of the Lotus cars and do a lot of laps. We had a small issue in Free Practice 1, no problems at all in Free Practice 2, so I’m very confident we can have a strong qualifying on Saturday. It’s a very important race here and we have to qualify well here and finish the race.”
Everything starts tomorrow! Hopefully Lucas and Veronica will do well :) Yesterday Lucas(F1 drivers) had a football match against the Star team in Monaco...of course F1 drivers won for 4-2. Yes! Yes! Yes! Both Virgin finished the race(18th 19th)! Hope this will continue in Monaco! Congratulations to the team! And Lucas...he was doing a really really great job! He had to drive the old car, and save fuel, and got a lot of blue flags, but he did it!

Lucas: “It was a good race for the team today - the first race where we were able to bring both cars to the finish and a good reward for the team after all the hard work. Reliability has been a weak point for the last races but I’m very happy to see we have taken a step forward. My race was very tough - we opted to start on the prime tyres and it was impossible to drive the car. When we switched back to options the car was okay again and I was able to do some good laps. With a lot of blue flags it was very difficult to have a consistent pace.”
Poor Virgin boys! They got a 5 grid penalty, because of a stupid mistake. On the Quali Lucas finished P22, he almost caught Timo which is a great thing! Timo was driving the new car while Lucas the old one, so not surprising that he was satifyed with his performance. I added some photos from today to the gallery! Lucas said: “I had a reasonably positive Qualifying session today. Although it isn’t ideal that I don’t have the new car also, I was pleased that I was able to get a good lap and end the session just a tenth away from Timo. Generally I’m pretty pleased with my performance so far this weekend and I’m confident that we can have a strong race tomorrow.”
Double 21st places for Lucas today, he finished in front of Timo. It looks the new car isn't so good. But at least everything went as they planned...they were able to complete many laps.
Lucas: “Basically it was a good Friday. We had no mechanical problems and no hydraulic issues with my car. It was a good first session and a good second session and we were able to evaluate a lot of the upgrades we have on the car. I’m very happy with the work that has been done and I’m looking forward to carrying on the progress tomorrow”
